Scherer, Michael – CEO, composer, producer, mixer, keyboard programming, piano, trombone

Michael Scherer is the owner and CEO of DreamVizion Productions. He graduated from Millikin University with a degree in Commercial Music. He has been an active and successful member in the music industry for many years now, and has arranged music for many artists on major record labels. Some of these projects and artists include: The Christmas to Remember (EMI Record Label); Adrian B. King: You’re Awesome! (Sony BMG Record Label); Angelica Black (AIO Productions); The Awakening (DreamVizion Productions).

Scherer has been actively producing commercials since he was a senior in high school. He is the Director of the Fine Arts Program through Reasonable Service in Decatur, IL. An active music teacher and advocate for entrepreneurial development in high school students in central Illinois, Scherer is a well known and respected community leader.

Scherer has traveled extensively throughout the United States, Europe, Central America and the Caribbean, performing at prestigious jazz festivals such as The North Sea Jazz Festival in The Netherlands, and The Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. His jazz trio – The Half Note Trio, was recently featured as the special guest for the Central Illinois Jazz Festival.

Garrett, Zach – COO, Producer, Arranger, Singer/Songwriter, Pianist, Drummer, and All-Around Fun Guy!

Zach comes to DreamVizion with a fire and passion for making great music. He loves all music, but his biggest influences come from the pop/rock, Southern rock, and country genres. He is a graduate of Millikin University with a B.M. in Commercial Music. Along with his duties at DreamVizion, Zach is a minister, church musician, youth pastor, substitute teacher, and private instructor for piano and percussion.

Zach has had a wealth of musical experience already from his beginning with the piano in grade school, to leading his high school drum line during and after high school, all the way to his professional singing career with his family southern gospel group. He has played many venues large and small. Zach has also been blessed to have been able to go on tour in the Dominican Republic.

Along with his duties as co-owner and COO of DreamVizion Productions, Zach is also co-owner of DreamVizion Entertainment and General Manager of DreamVizion’s new live talent booking agency, Live Tonight! Entertainment. DreamVizion is excited to have Zach on board and will now be expanding into several new genres including rock, country, southern rock, folk, and acoustic.

Hinton, Arthur – vocalist, composer and songwriter

Arthur Thomas Hinton III was born in Washington DC. His musical originality is accredited to his time spent singing background for gospel artists like Vikki Winans, Donald Lawrence, Richard Smallwood and more since the age of 12. He received his formal training from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, where he majored in Music Business. He currently resides in Decatur, IL with his wife and children where he is the choir director for Kingdom Come Ministries. Mr. Hinton has a passion for people and a passion for music ministry. It is his life’s goal to be so effective in musical worship, that deliverance and healing would take place to all that have an ear to hear.

Humble, Kenneth – saxophonist and composer

Kenneth is a graduate of Lincoln Land Community College, with a degree in Music Performance. He has studied with internationally known saxophonists Hamiett Bluiett, Freddie Washington, Willie Atkins and Ron Bridgewater. Humble has played in the Al Sears Jazz Festival, performed as an opening act for R&B superstar Tyrese, and is the leader of The Half Note Trio – a renown jazz trio featuring Michael Scherer on piano and Jaro Howse on drums.

Lecocq, Kristine (Kjeldsen) -  vocalist and songwriter

Kristine Lecocq

Kristine has been an adjunct instructor of Commercial Vocal Styles at Millikin University in Decatur, IL since 2005. She received her Bachelors of Music in Commercial Music, vocal emphasis, from Millikin University. Performing her own original material, Kristi spent four years on the Nashville scene working the “writers-in-the-round” showcases and open-mic circuits (including several performances at the infamous Bluebird Café) and returned to central IL in 2001.

Since 2002, she has performed across the Midwest with several central IL jazz, funk and rock bands including Blue Bus, Equinox, and Pancake Supper, and is co-founder (with Dr. Dave Burdick) of the Alpha Brats (original, acoustic pop/rock). Kristi is currently the female lead vocalist and acoustic guitarist for One-Eyed Red (alternative country/blues, based out of Decatur, IL) as well as for Sojourn (classic Top 40 hits, based out of Mattoon, IL) where she entertains audiences at festivals, weddings and corporate events. She can occasionally be seen with the Brad Davis Quartet and has also appeared as a guest artist with the Eastern IL Percussion Ensemble. Kristi continues to record original studio projects of her own as well as session work where she is hired as a background vocalist. In addition to her extensive performing and recording schedule, she has served as a judge for the Millikin Songwriters’ Guild’s annual songwriting competition.

Reyman, Randall – trumpet

Randall Reyman is Director of Jazz Activities and Professor of Trumpet at Millikin. He serves as principal trumpet with the Millikin-Decatur Symphony Orchestra and member of the Millikin Faculty Brass Quintet. His teaching duties include directing Millikin University’s Jazz Band I, studio trumpet instruction, brass ensembles, jazz combos, and improvisation. Mr. Reyman holds degrees from the University of Northern Iowa, University of Illinois, and Illinois State University.

An active composer, arranger, and trumpeter, he performs frequently with the Illinois Symphony Orchestra, Peoria Symphony, Decatur Municipal Band and in jazz venues throughout Central Illinois with groups such as the Millikin Faculty Jazz Sextet and the Decatur Big Band. Professor Reyman has published music and educational materials with Mel Bay Publications, Solid Brass Publications, and Kendor Music, and his CD, Hard at It, is available from First Step Records.

Walker, Jim – clarinet

Jim Walker is a musician performing in the Central Illinois area. He performs classically on clarinet, having performed with numerous orchestras, and is currently soloist and concert master with the Decatur Municipal Band. He has his own trio and quartet, and performs with a number of bands in the area on clarinet, tenor sax and flute. He reads and improvises fluently in all styles. He taught instrumental music in the Decatur Public Schools for 38 years, and currently teaches woodwinds privately.
